1. Samsung Galaxy s8, Galaxy S8+
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are Samsung’s flagship smartphones for the year 2017. The smartphones debuted the company’s home-grown Bixby digital assistant. Let’s talk about of the smartphone that includes bezel-less ‘Infinity’ Display, iris scanner with facial recognition functionality. The handsets recently received price cuts in India with the S8 now available at Rs 53,900, while the Galaxy S8+ now selling at Rs 58,900. Samsung Galaxy S8 priced at Rs 57,900 and Galaxy S8 Plus (64GB variant) priced at Rs 64,900, it means the total price cut of Rs 4,000 and Rs 6,000 effectively.
The handsets are powered by an octa-core Exynos Series 9 processor along with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. Both the smartphones have the same camera specifications — 12MP dual-pixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and OIS on the back and 8MP autofocus camera with a f/1.7 aperture on the front.
The Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch QuadHD+ (2960×1440) display and 570ppi pixel density and the bigger-screen Galaxy S8+ sports a 6.2-inch QuadHD+ (2960×1440) display with 529ppi pixel density. The former is backed by a 3,000mAh battery while the latter has 3,500mAh battery capacity.
2. Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus
Launched along with the iPhone X, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus run on the same 10nm A11 Bionic chipset with a 6-core processor. Like iPhone X, both the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus too come in two storage option — 64GB and 256GB. The iPhone 8 (64Gb) variant is priced at around Rs 64,000, while 256GB variant costs around Rs 73,000. As for the iPhone 8 Plus, the 64GB is priced at Rs 77,000 and the 256GB version costs Rs 86,000.
The duo also comes with improved camera software that allows users click better portrait shots. While the iPhone 8 features a single 12MP rear camera, the iPhone 8 Plus sports dual 12MP rear cameras. The rear camera has f/1.8 aperture while the secondary telephoto camera comes with f/2.8 aperture.

Like last year OnePlus launched two flagship smartphones in 2017 too — OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. OnePlus 5T shares several similarities with OnePlus 5 including key specs such as the processor, storage, RAM, front camera and battery as well as price.
Powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, the smartphone like the OnePlus 5, is backed sports same 3300mAh battery capacity along with the support for Dash charging tech. Both the smartphones, OnePlus 5 and 5T feature a 16MP Sony IMX371 sensor.

OnePlus 5T’s 6GB RAM+64GB storage variant is priced at Rs 32,999, while the 8GB RAM+128GB internal storage variant costs Rs 37,999.
5. Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL
The successor to Google’s Pixel series smartphones, Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones that launched last year, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL come in two storage options. The Pixel 2 is priced at Rs 61,000 and Rs 70,000 for the 64GB and 128GB storage variants respectively in India and the bigger-screen Pixel 2 XL will cost Rs 73,000 for 64GB variant and Rs 82,000 for the 128GB storage models.
Both run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack. They are IP67 rated which makes them dust and water resistant as well. The handsets have an ‘Active Edge’ feature which allows users squeeze the sides of the handset to activate Google Assistant.
The Google Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL run the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM. They have a 12.2MP rear camera with a f/1.8 aperture along with an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture. The Google Pixel 2 features a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) AMOLED 2.5D display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is backed by a 2700mAh battery.
